#WEEKEND READS

Hello, guys! I hope you are all having a wonderful reading weekend. I am in a bit of a reading slump, but I am still trying to read. I am currently reading City of Bones. Even though I did not like it the first time I read it, I want to give it another go. I am doing a buddy read with this one.

I am also reading Splintered by A;G Howard. It is a bit strange right now, but I LOVE weird books! I hope it turns out to be awesome.If you have read it leave your thoughts in the comments below.

Book Haul Coming UP

I have decided that I am REALLY ready to book blog again. I want to share my views with the world( or a few close friends) and what better way to get started then with a book haul? I am not one to buy a billion books at once so most of my book hauls will probably be only a few books at a time.

The Books I Bought( and Veruca^_^): 

• Splinted by A.G. Howard: When her mother’s mental health takes a turn for the worse, Alyssa learns that what she thought was fiction is based in terrifying reality. The real Wonderland is a place far darker and more twisted than Lewis Carroll ever let on. There, Alyssa must pass a series of tests, including draining an ocean of Alice’s tears, waking the slumbering tea party, and subduing a vicious bandersnatch, to fix Alice’s mistakes and save her family. She must also decide whom to trust: Jeb, her gorgeous best friend and secret crush, or the sexy but suspicious Morpheus, her guide through Wonderland, who may have dark motives of his own.
• The Devouring:  Reggie is a horror fanatic. When she finds a journal in a box of used books at the bookstore where she works, she "borrows" it. It tells of the Vours, black smokelike beings that possess humans who can't conquer their fear on Sorry Night (the eve of the winter solstice). Reggie and her friend Aaron attempt to make the Vours materialize but instead they possess her little brother. In a fight to the death, Reggie joins the battle of humanity against the Vours.

I also got a cute bookmark. I have been looking for the devouring for a while now.I found it at Books-a-Million for $3.97! I was so excited. My mom came with me on this trip to the bookstore and I am sure she thought I was crazy when I found it.  If you guys have read any of these  awesome books then let me know how you liked it in the comments below.

Review:
Writing: Dia Reeve's has a very unique and spunky writing style. She is one of those authors that when you read their works you know exactly who wrote it. She is very good with detail and character building. She made you feel for Hanna. As Hanna went through her bouts of crazy, so did you. You felt when Hanna's world was topsy turvey. When she had an impulse to do something insane you understood perfectly why she was doing it even though there is no conceivable reason for why she is doing. I loved reading every word that Dia wrote in this novel. 


Plot: To be honest there was not much of a plot. However, I believe that it was fitting that there was not one. With the  plot missing it helped take the reader inside the brain of Hanna. We were able to focus on her as a character. 
Characters:Like I said earlier, her character building is amazing. Even though every last one of them are insane, you fall in love with them all. The love intrest for Hanna is absoultly perfect( I will not say his name because it might be a spoiler. 8D) Reeve's writing is so good you even feel for the "Imaginary"( even though with Portero you can't be so sure.) Friends. 
Believable: This world is so believable. Of course, you have to use your imagination. However, the world building is impeccable. Her world is so far out yet she made me feel as though it could be my home. A very frighting and crazy home, but still home. 
Overall: Dia's work is delisiouly gruesome.  However, it is not made for everyone. If you are a fan of horror, strange,  or anything not of the norm, this is for you. 


I give it a 4.8/5.

Beautiful Creatures review

Review: This books was horrible! How in the world could it get so much hype and the writing is so bad! I could not even get a feel of the character because the writing was so distracting. I am no Marc Twain but I am also not trying to get a book deal. Are the publishing company's so desperate to get Twilight look alikes that they will now print fanfiction in book formate. This is horrible and I doubt I will even try to read it again. I feel like I wasted a lot of time and Money. I want my 8 bucks back! I originally picked up this book because I thought it was amazing that the book was in the south. There are very few paranormal romances that take place in the south. I am a southerner  and would love a good book that takes place here. I thought I might have finally found it when I picked up the book. This was was not the case at all. It contains sooo many stereotypes of southern people but yet does not use ya'll in the whole book. I know that it seems like a little thing but it made it impossible for me to dive into the story. There was no way that I could relate to the characters at all. Ethan was way to girl like and the main heroine was  as boring as a cardboard box. Needless to say I gave the book 1 out of 5 stars.

Hi everyone! Welcome to the Purple Equation. I am not sure what I created this blog for exactly yet. However, I do know that I will be reviewing some books on here. I do not know what else I will use this for. I will just plan as I go.
